Ned Renzi – Enjoy The Work

Ned Renzi

General Partner

Ned Renzi spent 25 years as a venture capitalist, backing early-stage companies that went on to create $20 billion in market cap. He also spent years working with DoD Special Operations groups where he learned a lot about high performing teams and leaders.

He retired early. It didn’t take.

What Ned missed wasn’t the deals; it was the work of sitting with a founder and helping them get better. So he came back on the other side of the table, as a General Partner at Enjoy The Work. He coaches early-stage founders on the stuff that actually decides outcomes: focus, discipline and the willingness to do the hard thing.

Where Ned goes deep

What founders bring him in for.

  • Venture & Fundraising

Six funds raised and invested over 20+ years, and he knows what makes investors lean in.

  • Board & Governance

Two decades in the boardroom alongside dozens of founders, steering through scale and the hard calls.

  • Founder Mentorship

A true thought partner, not just a check, going deeper than the VC model ever allowed.

  • Building & Scaling

From founding his own software company to a $15B portfolio, he’s seen what compounds and what stalls.

What drives Ned

Ned’s edge isn’t a framework; it’s discipline and focus. He founded his own company, then spent twenty-plus years investing in founders, and the thing that still gets him is the same one: watching someone who’s put in the work finally break through. At Enjoy The Work, he gets to go deeper than the VC model ever let him: more time with fewer founders.

  • Founder-first

His highest highs come from other people’s wins; he measures himself by the founders he helps succeed.

  • Pattern recognition

Six funds and dozens of portfolio companies tune a sharp eye for what scales and what stalls.

  • The long game

Relationships over transactions, the kind of partner who’s still there long after the round closes.
